The process of positioning a building's volumes for the most efficient response to inputs like sun exposure, view, privacy and site slope. The goal is for form to emerge from these inputs rather than an arbitrary aesthetic choice — the asymmetric façade of Niva Twin Villa is a direct result of this process.
