An experimental house cantilevered from the back of a steep Black Sea cliff toward the water, resolved with a minimal footprint.
An experimental house cantilevered from the back of a steep Black Sea cliff toward the water, resolved with a minimal footprint. Rather than sitting on the site, the building reaches out from it, engaging the view directly — two distinct masses meet in a single composition around a cantilever and a vertical spine.
Placing a house on a steep cliff without carving away most of the site couldn't be resolved with the conventional logic of a building that simply 'sits on' its plot.
Rather than sitting the building on the site, we built a structure that reaches from the site out toward the sea — two masses meeting around a cantilever and a vertical spine achieved a minimal footprint.
A 400 m² concept completed as an experimental housing structure that doesn't fight the cliff and engages the view directly.
